Film and Food : The Nettle Dress
February 17 @ 6:00 pm – 8:30 pm
A screening of the film The Nettle Dress with a meal with a nettle flavour
This beautiful documentary follows textile artist Allan Brown on his seven-year labour of love, to make a dress entirely from woven stinging nettles. We see not only a remarkable and challenging experiment in sustainable fashion, but also how his art becomes a way to cope with the shocking death of his wife – as he forages, spins, weaves, cuts and finally sews the cloth, we share the healing process of working through his grief. Anyone who has suffered personal loss, or cares about sustainable fashion and slow craft will enjoy this uniquely creative film
The film will start at 7pm. There is an optional pre-film nettle soup & bread which would be served at 6pm.
Film only £7/£5
Film & supper £12/£10
