Artisan cheese makers Dave and Marilyn Johnson run Norsworthy Dairy Goats in the heart of Devon’s beautiful countryside. When we started producing milk in 2001 we supplied local cheese and yoghurt makers, over the next two years we increased the herd size to 70
In 2002 we started to make cheese away from the Farm,and started to sell our cheese to local shops and at Farmers Markets, during this time we gradually increased the herd to100
By 2005 we had applied to build a cheese dairy on the farm,this was completed by 2006 and in the September of that year we were making in our new dairy.We gradually stopped selling our milk to other cheese makers and expanded our range of cheeses.We currently have nine cheese all unpasteurised ranging from soft to hard and mould ripened. The herd has now grown to 120 and is allowed to free range all the year round( but they do choose to stay in if it’s wet!!)
