The Workshop
Fermenting is a great way of preserving foods, increasing their nutritional value, adding probiotics to your diet and getting your taste buds going! Fermented foods are not only rich in various probiotics but also have beneficial enzymes that help your heal your gut and assist digestion.
We will look at the fermentation process and will get hands-on making sauerkraut (fermented cabbage) and water kefir (fermented drink). You will learn everything you need to do this at home with confidence; and you can take with you a jar of sauerkraut and the necessary kefir grains to carry on making this delicious drink at home.
Let’s get bubbling!
This workshop is led by Sara from the Harvest Workers’ Co-op and Hilltown Organics
